WELCOME TO THE ARC TRAINING CENTRE FOR ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES IN FOOD MANUFACTURE (ATFM)

The ATFM is a Training Centre that combines the strengths of food science, nutiriton and technology with chemistry, nanotechnology and process engineering at UNSW Australia. The mission is to strengthen Australian’s R&D in food science and technology and train skilled personnel in three important areas: innovative processing technologies, healthier and safe foods and emerging technologies in sensing and smart packaging. Specifically, the centre will contribute to Australia’s competitiveness through: enhancing the capacity to design and produce healthier processed foods by developing predictive models that elucidate the effects and interactions of processing; improving food safety and extending the shelf life of foods.
